Presets are not one size fits all… and they never can be! Say goodbye to one-click presets that leave you feeling more frustrated than when you started editing! With the KJ Preset Process learn how to make presets work for YOU and your images!
I've been manual editing for 12 years and at first, the concept of a step-by-step process like this seemed like it would hinder me rather than help me. However, after creating this tool, I've found myself subconsciously flying through these steps and editing at a faster pace than I have in 12 years! This is happening because I'm streamlining my manual editing system into steps which is making my editing more efficient!
In order to use the KJ Preset Process, you need version 7.3 or later, we recommend the newest version of Lightroom Classic (that includes color grading vs split toning). Using other versions of Lightroom may altar your experience with the product.
The KJ Preset Process was created for any experience level. However, if you’ve never used Lightroom before, we highly recommend the KJ Consistency Course first. The Consistency Course was created to teach photographers about all that Lightroom has to offer. This Preset Process was created to speed up photographer’s editing time and automate some of the main patterns in editing that I share in the KJ Consistency Course.
It is a 4-Step preset process. Instead of clicking one preset that alters temperature and color tones, HSL adjustments, contrast, shadows, tonal curve, etc. we have broken down the editing process into easy-to-manage steps that build on one another in a way that gives you what each image needs. It’s a bridge between manual editing and traditional one-click preset editing!
The KJ Preset Process was created for photographers who prefer a bright and airy style. It's very important for dark and moody photographers to recognize that this process of editing is not geared towards their style and we do not recommend purchasing this if you are a dark and moody photographer.
KJ products that are digital downloads are nonrefundable or exchangeable. Once you are given access to this download there is no way "give it back."
The KJ Preset Process includes 40 presets/profiles to help simplify some of what can make Lightroom overwhelming!
If you are a Consistency Course student, and have completed the course, the KJ Preset Process will take your knowledge and expertise of lightroom that you learned in the course and will automate it into quickly accessible steps. The advantage that you have over photographers who have not taken the Consistency Course is that you have a complete knowledge of what each of these steps are doing in the right hand side of Lightroom which enables you to have even more control over your editing. This Preset Process will speed up your manual editing process that you’ve learned through the Consistency Course. Consider the KJ Preset Process as a helpful accessory to the Consistency Course but not a necessity.
Traditional presets provide photographers with a signature or base preset that is all encompassing but rarely matches exactly what every image needs, thus requiring the photographer to know how to use enhancement presets to adjust the base preset to fit their needs. The KJ Preset Process was created in four steps to help photographers have complete control over their preset process instead of feeling confined and limited by only one base option. This preset process empowers photographers to understand the power of manual editing in a semi-automated form! It also strategically utilizes a combination of presets and profiles to make the process more user friendly and more adaptable to every image's needs.
The KJ Preset Process is an intuitive mix of traditional presets and profiles. We use these two different tools in a strategic chronological order to give photographers more editing power then they would have through just traditional presets alone.
These local adjustment brushes are used when traditional slider style edits do not fix an isolated issue in the image.
Currently the KJ Preset Process is only available for the Desktop version of Lightroom Classic.
